Opening Plenary:
Building a Global Movement

We’ll kick off the World Congress with welcoming words from Survivor Alliance’s Executive Director, Minh Dang, setting the environment and tone for the four days to come. The session will conclude with an introduction to the well-being support available throughout the conference.


The Power of the Collective

This panel explores the transformative strength of collective power. Survivor leaders will share their experiences in building and mobilizing collective power within their communities. Moderated by Survivor Alliance staff, this discussion will highlight the profound impact that united efforts can have in driving change.

By the end of this session, survivors will leave reflecting on the marginalized within our own communities and how to engage with those we haven’t previously connected with. This will help create a stronger, more effective movement.

This panel will connect with our action plan goal: to build a diverse, inclusive, and intersectional movement.

Building an Intersectional and Inclusive Movement: Breakout Groups

All About Power

In this session, we will define a variety of types of power and reflect on our own relationship to power. We will differentiate from power associated with our identities and our roles within a movement. We will discuss how to recognize power differentials while having difficult conversations and recognize that we can wield our power in both positive and harmful ways.

Shifting Perspectives to Shift Power: Reflections

SA’s Executive Director will lead us in a collective exercise to shift our perspective about “the work” of anti-trafficking. Minh will share some of the key assumptions we want everyone to take into the breakout rooms that follow. She will set the stage for collaborative conversations and invite World Congress participants to show up with an open heart and fierce mind.

Shifting Perspectives to Shift Power: Collaborative Breakout Sessions

In this interactive session, participants will have the opportunity to join breakout groups focused on key themes from the Shifting Power section of the Action Plan. Each group will explore a specific area where power dynamics can be transformed to better support and elevate survivor leadership. Participants can choose the group that resonates most with their interests and experiences.
